BIRDLIFE
Quite exclusive to Bakotu, the mature eco-friendly gardens attract an amazing variety of birdlife. These pictures of birds, have all been taken within the hotel grounds by renown Dutch photographer Anneray Westerling.
English naturalist and nature photographer Chris Packham also considers Bakotu his ‘home from home’.
There are a number of terraces around the hotel that are the ideal place to spot these birds, including the Back Terrace which is surrounded by fruit trees and shaded by the broad leafed teak tree and palms.
Most notable to our hotel is our unique viewing platform overlooking the Kotu Stream Basin. It has proved a great success with ornithologists as it offers the perfect position to view the huge variety of birds Gambia is famous for and to observe nature at its best.
